About D4D

Driving for Dreams is an event held by Make-A-Wish Australia and supported by the Porsche Club of Western Australia and is focused on raising awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish® Australia and providing a fun and exciting experience for children with life threatening illnesses and their families.

On Sunday, 27th of September 2009, Driving for Dreams is to make history again when over 250 Porsches will congregate at Langley Park to set the record for the largest convoy of Porsches ever assembled in Australia.

The inaugural Driving for Dreams day in 2007 set records when 168 Porsches and their drivers created Australia’s largest Porsche convoy and raised $54,000 for West Australian Wish kids. The 2008 event continued the growth with over 200 Porsches participating, raising approximately $58,000 granting many wishes from the funds raised.

This year, Driving for Dreams returns with the continued aim to create another day of great fun and joy for all concerned with even more motoring activities for all to share along with lots of family fun including a charity auction, viewing driving displays, lots of kids activities and much more. All donations and auction items directly benefit Make-A-Wish® Australia.

The day will start with the Porsche convoy assembling at Langley Park, followed by a breakfast at the Hyatt Hotel hosted by the HHG Legal Group.

This year’s event will feature over $20 million dollars worth of Porsche motorcars parading through the CBD before winding their way down the Kwinana Freeway and arriving at the Kwinana Motorplex for a day of motor sport and family fun. Full details here.

WA Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan will lead the convoy with Celebrity Guest of Honour, V8 Supercar racing legend Jim Richards, a former seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner and a four-time winner of the Australia Touring Car Championship.

The Perth Motorplex will provide plenty of entertainment, with members of the public being able to view the cars and meet some of the Make-A-Wish® children, their families and participating celebrities. Auctions will also take place late in the day after track demonstrations that will include Porsches from the 50’s to the latest GT3 race cars.
